Video: 17,500-capacity south stand bursts into song after Kane double

Tottenham Hotspur fans certainly had a nervous wait to be able to celebrate their first three points of the new season.

After being pegged back against the run of play in the first half when a long ball from Aston Villa split the Spurs defence and John McGinn raced through to slot past Hugo Lloris.

It looked as if he was going to be a frustrating start to the campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s side but the introduction of Christian Eriksen helped the side to create more space in the final third.

When debutant Tanguy Ndombele levelled the score on 72 minutes, there was only going to be one side who were going to push on and win the match.

Spurs got their just reward for their pressure when Harry Kane netter in the 86th and 90th minute to put the result out of reach of the Premier League newcomers.

Following Kane’s second goal, the 17,500 capacity single tier south stand burst into a rendition of “Oh when the Spurs go marching in” which was captured on camera by one of the supporters in that area of the ground.

It’s certainly spine tingling when you hear this sung at our new home and once heard, you know football is well and truly back.
