talkSPORT radio host Adrian Durham believes that Tottenham Hotspur fans may need to change their mentality towards their side.
While Durham acknowledged the North London faithful’s desire for attacking and free-flowing football, he claims that under Jose Mourinho they developed a siege mentality.
He referred to a focus of where the supporters should take a leaf out of Millwall’s books where they believe nobody likes them and they do not care.
After winning just one League Cup in a thirty-year period the host claimed (when it is actually two League Cups and one FA Cup), Durham described it as a shocking record for a club of Tottenham’s stature and believes that fans need to forget about the style of play and instead allow Mourinho a couple of seasons to end the long wait for a trophy.
Spurs begin their Premier League campaign with the visit of Everton on Saturday September 12th.
"Wouldn’t it be a good idea to develop a siege mentality?”
"They’ve been praising good football for years winning nothing!”
"Say ‘we don’t care how we play, as long as we win trophies’.”

Have something to tell us about this article?
Much as I think Adrian Durham is a prize turd, who notoriously despises Spurs, on this occasion he is probably correct. Most diehard Spurs fans would probably sacrifice style points for a piece of silverware this season, myself included. Also, to correct your statistics, Spurs have won three trophies in the last 30 years, not one. Notwithstanding, still a thoroughly abject return for a club of our stature.
I mean… its 2 league cups and 1 fa cup in 30 years… 1 peace cup too (we all know thats the envy of the world) XD
