Video: Alan Shearer and Jermaine Jenas on whether Spurs need another striker

The transfer window slams shut at 11pm BST this evening and will see sides having to make do with their squads until the end of the season.

When Harry Kane suffered ankle ligament damage in the recent defeat against Manchester United it made many sit up and ponder whether Mauricio Pochettino should bring in another striker to help put the ball in the back of the net.

The issue was compounded when Heung-min Son jetted off for international duty leaving Fernando Llorente as the only fit senior striker available for selection.

Alan Shearer and Jermaine Jenas were on the punditry panel of last night’s Match of the Day show on the BBC and were asked by former Spur Gary Lineker on whether it’s time they signed a forward.

Both pundits agreed that another top quality striker should be recruited in the summer.
