Video: Architect reveals how much Tottenham’s new stadium has cost

Stadium architect Christopher Lee has revealed that Daniel Levy used to call him during the early hours of the morning to discuss the Northumberland Development project.

Lee, who is the managing director of Populous (EMEA) confirmed in a radio interview with BBC 5 Live that the project cost for the 62,062 capacity seater stadium stands at over £1 billion.

Spurs ended their 118 association with White Hart Lane in 2017 when the ground was demolished to make way for the state of the art replacement arena.

The development was originally said to be around the £850million mark, making it the second most expensive UK stadium ever, behind Wembley (The Sun) but appears to have gone over the anticipated cost.

Even with the increased cost, many Spurs fans will certainly agree that the finished article has been worth every penney spent.
