Video: Arsene Wenger claims Spurs are playing with fear

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have been playing with fear.

The North London club have suffered a difficult start to the new season having been embarrassed in cup competitions by Colchester United and Bayern Munich whilst only managing to win three of their opening eleven Premier League matches.

Wenger appeared on the punditry panel for beIN Sports for Tottenham’s Champions League match at Red Star Belgrade and suggested that a win in the competition would go some way to restore some confidence for their return to Premier League action.

He also claimed that Spurs have been lacking confidence and playing with an element of fear this season.

When asked to pinpoint Tottenham’s problems he suggested that there is still pain of losing the Champions League final within the squad, along with the inability to move on some of the players who wanted to depart the club but ended up remaining as part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
