Video: Dane Scarlett scores brilliant header in Petr Cech’s return to Chelsea action

Tottenham Hotspur’s Under 23 side have certainly spoilt Petr Cech’s return to football with Chelsea in the opening 45 minutes of action at Kingsmeadow.

The 38-year-old former Premier League winner has not played competitively since retiring following the Europa League final in May 2019, but he has been training with Frank Lampard’s senior side for a number of months and was registered as emergency cover in the club’s Premier League squad list in October.

Lampard already had Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero and Karlo Ziger to choose from on the goalkeeping front before Cech decided to put on his gloves once more.

The Czech has already had to pick the ball out of his own net on two occasions in a half which has been dominated by Spurs.

Jubril Okedina gave Wayne Burnett’s side the lead within three minutes and they doubled the lead when Harvey White’s pin-point cross found the head of Dane Scarlett. The 16-year-old produced a brilliant header to leave Cech in no man’s land.
