Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino would not be the right fit for Manchester United.
The Argentine has been out of work for almost a year after he was dismissed by Daniel Levy following the club’s poor start to the 2019/20 campaign which saw them fall to the unfamiliar position of fourteenth in the Premier League.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under increasing pressure following yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal (Express).
Murphy claimed that United need to stick with Solskjaer for the time being and believes that Pochettino’s success has come from improving players and teams while not having the opportunity to date to try and improve the form of established stars.
However, the ex-England international does believe the writing is on the wall at Old Trafford for the Norwegian.
Pochettino will be a guest on this evening’s production of Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
"You've got to leave it as it is."
"I don't get that [Pochettino links]. I don't think that's the way to go."
"Pochettino's success has come from improving players and teams."
