Danny Murphy believes that Dele Alli needs to change his position for the sake of his career.
Murphy claimed that Dele, who used to operate in the number ten role for Tottenham Hotspur during his most successful spell at the club under Mauricio Pochettino claims that the position is no longer utilised by many other Premier League teams.
Instead, the former Spurs and Liverpool midfielder believes that Dele may be suited to playing in a more deeper role or coming off the wing.
The 24-year-old was said to have been offered to Real Madrid during the negotiations for Gareth Bale, while French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to have been given the opportunity to take him on loan (Guardian).
Dele was left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad for the trip to Bulgaria to take on Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday night and once again found himself back in London while his team-mates took on Southampton at St Mary’s yesterday lunchtime.
