VIDEO: Dawson calls for Spurs response against Man United

Tottenham captain Michael Dawson said his side are looking to bounce back at home to Manchester United on Sunday.

The North London club were on the wrong end of a 6-0 hammering at Manchester City last weekend. Dawson was talking at the unveiling of the new ‘Calling All Spurs’ fan mural, which will be on show at White Hart Lane for the first time when the Champions make the trip south.

Many Spurs fans would admit that Dawson was well below par against City – his lack of pace exposes us, especially with AVB wanting to play such a high defensive line.

Dawson said: “It is always special whenever Man United come to the (White Hart) Lane. It’s a game we want to respond from what went on last week (6-0 defeat away to Manchester City) to bounce back as you say and to walk out the dressing room and see them pictures (on the mural) but not just that. When we go out there, the 30-odd thousand fans that will be here and cheering us on will be a massive boost.”

“Playing against Man United, they are a top team, to attackers so we are going to have to be prepared, better than we were last week and perform better than we did. But that’s gone. In the nine years since I’ve been here I have never had a game like that so, that’s (the result last week) history now and we look forward.”
