Video: Departing player celebrates end of Spurs career with fast-food trip with team-mates

Tottenham Hotspur brought the curtain down on an eventful 2019/20 Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

The point at Selhurst Park proved to be crucial in securing the club’s place in next season’s Europa League after Wolves fell to a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea which allowed Spurs to move up to sixth in the table.

The fixture also represented the last time in which Jan Vertoghen and Michel Vorm were to be involved with the club after the contracts of both players ended (BBC).

Vertonghen found himself on the bench against the Eagles but was not given a farewell cameo by Jose Mourinho while Vorm travelled as cover in the event that Hugo Lloris or Paulo Gazzaniga suffered illness or injury prior to kick off.

The former Ajax defender was treated to a trip to a local McDonalds after the match by team-mates including Ben Davies and Eric Dier to end his association with the North Londoners which goes back to 2012.

Vertonghen recorded the moments in which the player were about to arrive at the fast-food chain on his Instagram account, so much for riding into the sunset in style.

Team-mate including Harry Kane have already confirmed that Vertonghen and Vorm are set for pastures new.
