Video: Eight years ago today, Peter Crouch did this for Tottenham

While the majority of Tottenham Hotspur fans are still on cloud nine after Wednesday night’s 3-0 Champions League demolition of Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, eight years ago today, we also enjoyed a memorable result in Europe’s top club competition.

A late goal from Peter Crouch gave Tottenham the advantage in their Champions League tie with AC Milan. However, the match was filled with controversy and was also remembered for the antics of Gennaro Gattuso whose lack of discipline shone through when he shoved Spurs assistant coach Joe Jordan and then went head to head with the former Scottish international.

Despite the sour scenes, Spurs held the Italian giants to a 0-0 draw in the return leg and made it through to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in their history, before losing to Real Madrid.
