Video: Former striker claims Pochettino is not at the level of Klopp or Guardiola

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is not at the same level as Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp as a manager.

Pochettino has guided Spurs to four successive top four finishes along with making it to the Champions League final without spending a single penny over two transfer windows.

Meanwhile, Guardiola and Klopp have spent millions of pounds improving their squad to win silverware.

While Bent admitted that Pochettino has done a fantastic job at Spurs, he stopped short of putting him in the same bracket with the Liverpool and Manchester City managers.

Bent, who played for the club between 2007-2009 made the comments while appearing as a guest on talkSPORT’s Drive show alongside Max Rushden.

Opinion

While Pochettino has not yet won any silverware with Spurs, it is unfair to compare him to Klopp and Guardiola who have invested heavily in their sides over the past couple of years.

Hopefully, with the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele and one or two others, it could mean that Spurs are ready to compete with City and Liverpool for the title next season.
