A misplaced match from the home side allowed Moussa Sissoko to play the marksman through on goal and he showed good composure before firing the ball high into the roof of the net.
Gareth Bale headed Spurs in front in the first half only for the home side to level after the break.
Ben Davies put his side back in front with a shot from distance, with Kane looking to have given Spurs some breathing space.
