Matt Doherty has admitted that he is very proud to be joining a club of the size of Tottenham Hotspur and described his move to North London as one of the best days of his career.
The Republic of Ireland international was announced by the club as their latest signing of the summer earlier today after agreeing his transfer with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Jose Mourinho’s side and will wear the number two shirt.
Doherty labelled Tottenham’s home as the best stadium in the world and was also left impressed with the facilities at the Hotspur Way training base.
He admitted that he was so excited by the move he wanted to travel to London yesterday to take part in the friendly against Birmingham City and also gave an insight into his playing style as a combination player who attacks both posts and tries to get up and down the field as much as possible.
