Former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has made a huge claim about the North London club’s failure to win the Champions League final.
Under Mauricio Pochettino fought back from the jaws of elimination during the group stages and went on to comfortably beat Borussia Dortmund before facing Manchester City and Ajax with both matches creating plenty of drama and controversy.
After Jose Mourinho was appointed as Pochettino’s successor earlier this week, Cundy has claimed that if the Portuguese was in charge for the European showpiece against Liverpool, he would have won the match for Spurs.
Cundy claimed that Mourinho would have found a way to beat Liverpool however did suggest that the former Chelsea manager is a shadow of his former self.
“If Jose was managing in the #UCL final, Spurs would’ve won that game.” 🏆
“You haven’t got the Special One. You’ve got the Special Once.” ⚪️
