Some Tottenham Hotspur supporters certainly raised their eyebrows when Mauricio Pochettino named Juan Foyth on the right side of his defence for the match against Manchester City earlier this afternoon.
The young Argentine had a tricky opening fifteen minutes at the Etihad Stadium when he was up against Raheem Sterling, but certainly grew in stature with his performance and kept the winger contained. In fact, he did a much better job than Kieran Trippier managed on Wednesday night when Sterling had his England team-mate in his pocket.
Foyth’s performance certainly give Pochettino food for thought on whether to start him again on Tuesday night for the visit of Brighton in the Premier League.
