After 13 months out injured, Erik Lamela has scored his first goal for Tottenham in 16 months.
The Tottenham winger doubled Tottenham’s lead against Newport County in the 34th minute after some fine work from Heung-min Son. The Argentine took a couple of touches before placing the ball beyond the hapless Newport keeper.
Earlier, Tottenham took the lead after Newport defender Dan Butler sliced the ball into his own net.
Hopefully this goal can give Lamela the confidence to push on following his injury hell and get his career back on track to the heights many expected when he joined Spurs from Roma.
