Video: Liverpool legend suggests that Pochettino will ignore Levy’s calls over wage cut

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has given his reaction to reports that Daniel Levy has asked Mauricio Pochettino to take a wage cut following his sacking.

The Argentine is still being paid his £8.5million annual wages as part of the severance package agreed with the Spur chairman when he was dismissed back in November (Daily Mail).

Levy is said to be concerned about Spurs’ finances during the coronavirus pandemic and will also contact Pochettino’s backroom staff of Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jimenez who are all still on the payroll despite following the manager out of the North London exit.

Carragher admits there will be financial cuts right across football and claims that Levy will have his work cut out in trying to persuade a manager who he has sacked to take a pay cut.

The Sky Sports pundit even smirked when he made a comment that Pochettino would turn his phone off to ignore Levy.
