A moment of madness from Jan Vertonghen has gifted Arsenal a 1-0 lead within the space of the opening eight minutes against Tottenham Hotspur.
The goal came from a free-kick which was played into the Tottenham penalty area and Vertonghen foolishly handballed leaving referee Mike Dean with no option but to point to the penalty spot.
There were also errors from Tottenham in play which led to the free kick when Serge Aurier’s defensive lapse meant that he had to foul Aubameyang, ironically it was the same player who scored the penalty.
It has been a poor opening ten minutes from Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
? LOOK AWAY VERTONGHEN ?
The Spurs man bizarrely raises his hands in the area and Mike Dean has no hesitation in pointing for the spot. Aubameyang made no mistake with the penalty.
