Video: Moussa Sissoko reveals what Spurs should have tried to do to score against Newcastle

Moussa Sissoko admitted that Tottenham Hotspur found it more difficult to try and break down Newcastle United after the visitors had scored the opening goal.

The former Newcastle player was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line up but was unable to stop his side from falling to a surprise 1-0 defeat against the Magpies.

Sissoko also cited how Newcastle had set up to get numbers behind the ball made it difficult and admitted that Tottenham should have tried more attempts from outside of the box to try and get on the scoresheet.

Spurs instead tried to pass their way through the Newcastle defence and even crosses into the box were squandered when they did find a team-mate.

He admitted that there was disappointment in the dressing room over the failure to build on the draw against Manchester City and is instead looking for an improvement against Arsenal in the North London derby next weekend.
