When Georges-Kevin Nkoudou came off the bench at Craven Cottage to provide a beautiful cross in injury time for Harry Winks to win all three points against Fulham, some fans sat up and took notice.
The 23-yer-old had become Tottenham’s forgotten man and was given a route back into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team due to the mounting injury crisis on our hands.
Pochettino placed his faith in Nkoudou by handing him his first start for the club since 2017 and wasted a perfect opportunity to score a goal.
It was a well-worked set-piece that saw Kieran Trippier reverse the ball to Nkoudou. His first effort was weak and too close to Speroni in the Palace goal and also failed to convert the rebound.
