Video: Peter Crouch rips into Tottenham after Champions League humiliation

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch has branded the 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich as unacceptable.

Crouch stressed the fact that the Tottenham side is filled with top, international players and should not be getting beat by seven goals on their home turf.

The 38-year-old played for Tottenham during their progression to the quarter final stage under Harry Redknapp’s leadership refused to make excuses for the players and labelled the performance as inexcusable.

The result was the biggest ever margin of defeat by an English team at home in any European competition.

Here is what Crouch had to say following the game on BT Sport last night.

Opinion
Crouch is right to describe the result as inexcusable, it was an embarrassing display from a set of players who made it to last year’s final. Based on this display, they have learned absolutely nothing from making it all the way to Madrid and questions must be asked of the club, coaching staff and the players in light of being humiliated in front of the world.
