Mauricio Pochettino has explained why he has decided not to include Jan Vertonghen in his squad for the visit of West Ham United.
The Belgian was left out of the match day sixteen with the Spurs boss stating that it would have been a massive risk if he had played him due to fatigue.
Spurs have one eye on Tuesday night for the home leg of the Champions League semi final against Ajax in which Vertonghen is likely to feature in what will be the first time he has faced his former side.
Vertonghen has once again been a rock at the back for Spurs in the heart of defence alongside Toby Alderweireld this season.
