VIDEO: Pochettino not happy with Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he was not happy following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 win away to Asteras Tripolis in the UEFA Europa League.

It looked to be going well after the first 45 minutes, however a nervy second half saw us scrape by to get our first win on Greek soil.

There needs to be a far better display on Sunday when Stoke City visit White Hart Lane, if we defend as we did on Thursday night – even the likes of Stoke will punish us dearly.

“The second half was different than the first half. It’s true that they take a lot of risks in the second half and create some chances but in the end, previous on the game, we knew that Asteras is a very good team at home. In the last three years I think has never lost and in the end it’s important to get the three points. We need to improve. This is true because the second half wasn’t good, but in the end the three points is the most important thing to have.”

Pochettino added: “At the moment I’m not happy. We need to improve we need to play better, to play well. We need to improve in different aspect of the team but it’s true. We’re alive in our competition, but we know that it’s not enough, we need to improve. And it’s for that I am not happy. I am happy because we are in the three competitions, but we need to improve and we need to improve quick.

(On whether Harry Kane will play at the weekend) “We’ll see. We’ll see Sunday. I’m happy for him because he scored again and happy for us because it’s an important goal for getting the three points and I’m happy for all. Yes.”
