Video: Pundit claims Poch should have made an example of player against Everton

Former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has called upon Mauricio Pochettino to make a statement with Christian Eriksen.

The 27-year-old was once again disappointing during the 1-1 draw against Everton and had little impact on the game.

Eriksen continues to be selected by Pochettino despite wanting to leave the club and his contract set to expire in the summer (Ekstra Bladet).

The Dane was only brought off by the Spurs boss in injury time despite having been one of the worst players on the field throughout the match.

Pardew appeared as a pundit for beIN Sports and believes that Eriksen’s display against Everton is a prime example of why he should have been brought off earlier to make a point of how poorly the playmaker had performed.

Opinion

After revealing in the summer that he wanted to leave North London and mentioned Real Madrid as a club which he would be interested in speaking to, based on his displays during the current campaign he is light years away from a move to the Spanish giants.
