Video: Sherwood claims Poch and Levy know star’s long-term future is not at Spurs

Mauricio Pochettino decided to leave Christian Eriksen on the bench for last night’s 5-0 demolition of Red Star Belgrade.

The midfielder missed the match against Watford on Saturday after suffering a dead leg while on international duty with Denmark.

Pochettino decided to give the returning Giovani Lo Celso the opportunity to get some game time under his belt when he came on for Dele Alli in the 79th minute.

Lo Celso’s introduction was the third replacement of the night which meant that Eriksen had to watch the full match from the sidelines and take part in the post-match warm down with the other replacements on the pitch after the final whistle.

Former Spurs manager and midfielder Tim Sherwood has claimed that Eriksen, Pochettino and Daniel Levy will all know that the Dane’s long-term future is not in North London.

Eriksen is out of contract next summer and is able to open talks with European clubs in January over a pre-contract deal.
