When Manchester City were awarded a harsh penalty after just thirteen minutes of the Champions League quarter final tie against Tottenham Hotspur, many Spurs fans were left to fear that it could be another night to forget.

Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers wanted to check what part of Danny Rose’s body the ball struck following Raheem Sterling’s attempt on goal and after checking replays, the official pointed to the spot.

Hugo Lloris, who came under fire for his error at Liverpool came to Tottenham’s rescue when he dived to his left to palm away Sergio Aguero’s effort.

The reaction and noise from the single tier south stand at the new stadium was a glorious sight to behold.
