(Video) Spurs fan provides a visual update of the new stadium

A week ago today, Tottenham Hotspur released a statement confirming that the new stadium would not be ready on time.

Worryingly, according to the Mail, Spurs are having issues with fire safety systems that could set the development back up to six months until February of next year.

The cost of the project to build the 62,062 seater stadium is also said to have risen from £850million to over £1billion as the club race to get the stadium open.

Regardless of cost and timeframe, a safety licence must be granted before matches can be staged at the ground and that will not happen before test events take place.

The club’s website lists the home game against Manchester City on October 28 as TBC and the Chelsea game on November 24 as at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

We all await further information from the club with baited breath.
