Video: talkSPORT pundit claims Spurs star gets lost when played out wide

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has praised Jose Mourinho for turning around Dele Alli’s fortunes at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old began the new campaign injured after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season and had looked a shadow of his former self when featuring under Mauricio Pochettino.

Dele was accused earlier in the season by Roy Keane as having lost his hunger for the game (Sky Sports).

Jose Mourinho has deployed the England international in a more central role, operating just off Harry Kane which has paid dividends having scored three goals and chipped in with an assist to help the Portuguese to a 100% record after his first three matches in charge.

Cascarino claimed that Dele gets lost in matches when he is played in a wider role and is more effective when he plays in the middle, something which has proven to be a wise move by Mourinho in recent matches.
