Video: The significant moment which could have secured Spurs’ top four place over Arsenal

It has been a long and tiring season for Tottenham Hotspur having been trying to compete on four separate fronts, despite not signing any new players for the past two transfer windows.

Spurs certainly haven’t made life easy for themselves in trying to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League having suffered somewhat surprise defeats in recent weeks to the likes of Burnley, West Ham United and Bournemouth.

With Arsenal having been hot on their North London rival’s heels when Mauricio Pochettino’s side squandered a ten-point advantage, it appears that one moment in the season has proven to be pivotal in seeing Spurs scrape into the Champions League spots.

Arsenal currently find themselves three points behind Spurs in the table and Hugo Lloris’ last-minute penalty save during the derby at Wembley in early March could be the deciding factor come to the end of the season.

When Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was awarded a spot-kick in injury time, it was the Spurs skipper who denied the Arsenal forward with a superb save to secure a 1-1 draw and deny the Gunners all three points.
