The new Tottenham Hotspur stadium has beeen receiving rave reviews from supporters, players and those connected to football since it officially opened its doors for the visit of Crystal Palace last Wednesday.

Yesterday evening was the first time that European football has been played under lights at the new 62,062 capacity seater stadium and the atmosphere generated by the home fans was electric, to say the least.

There were some unsavoury scenes which were captured on camera by a Spurs fan following some heavy-handedness from some stewards who used physical force after three supporters refused to sit down in block 112.

The Tottenham Hotspur’s Supporters Trust has already confirmed that the footage has been sent to the club.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. The bloke with the beard has a classic case of little man syndrome. Give some people a bib and look what happens, probably knocks his bf around too:)

  2. If you are sitting in row 20 and rows 1-19 are standing, you either stand up or miss the game.

If the stewards used common sense and got row 1 to sit down, the rest would probably follow a little easier. But they don’t – they wade into row 15 and argue with people who didn’t pay £40 to £50 to view the back of someone’s head for 90 minutes.
