Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has fully explained to a press conference of the status of Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Jack Grealish.
Bruce admitted that discussions between both clubs have been going on for the majority of the summer, but there has been no official bid lodged from Spurs.

This falls in line with the speculation in the press in recent weeks that Daniel Levy has been trying to play a waiting game to take advantage of the Championship club’s financial situation, which has eased in recent weeks following a majority buyout from two billionaires.
Whilst talks have been taking place, Bruce did add that Spurs are currently “nowhere near” Villa’s valuation of the 22-year-old midfielder.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked about Tottenham’s transfer progress earlier today and made hints that the Spurs board should be explaining the situation, rather than him.
It’s going to be a tense few days for Spurs fans ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window at 5pm on Thursday.
