VIDEO: Watch Poch’s press conference after West Ham win

Mauricio Pochettino has urged his Tottenham players to keep on improving despite the 4-1 demolition of West Ham United at the Lane.

In a comprehensive performance, arguably our best of the season we swept aside the mouthy east London lot with a brace from Kane and one apiece from Alderweireld and Walker.

“Because always in football, we cannot stop – never. Now we are very happy, but we need to improve. Always there’s something to improve, and for us, now, it’s to analyse and assess and try to improve and play much better in the next game. But it’s never easy to improve, but we are in a very good way. But our mentality is (to take things) step-by-step. We need to keep working hard and stay with our feet on the ground.”

Pochettino was asked (Question – It’s quite tough to be outside the top four having gone 12 games unbaten, isn’t it?)
“We are in a very good position. We are quiet in behind the top four, and it’s too far (until) the end of the season. We need to be calm, working hard, show the mentality and the aggressivity and the way that we play with and without (the) ball. I think it’s the best thing that we can give to our supporters, and to create for the future a big and strong basis (base).”

Slaven Bilic, West Ham United manager added: “So, no excuses, they were much better. We’re going to analyse this game, of course. On the other hand we have to put this game to bed as soon as possible and to prepare for a game against West Brom – that is a perfect possibility to come back on winning tracks.”
