Video: Wenger suggests how he would have dealt with Dele Alli’s furious reaction

Arsene Wenger described Dele Alli’s behaviour following his reaction to being substituted against TB Leipzig in midweek as not acceptable.

The Spurs midfielder was brought off in the second half by Jose Mourinho and replaced with Erik Lamela which saw cameras picking up Dele slamming a water bottle into the ground after leaving the pitch and slumping into his chair, where he took off his boots and threw them to the ground, also.

He was left out of the starting eleven for yesterday’s trip to Chelsea and made a late cameo off the bench in the 2-1 defeat which saw Spurs pass up the opportunity to move up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Wenger has suggested how he would have dealt with the situation by having a word with the player and reminding him of the way he must conduct himself whilst insisting that players must respect the decision of the coach even if they believe it is not the right call.
