Villa boss Bruce provides update on Jack Grealish’s future

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has spoken again on Jack Grealish’s future after watching his side beat Hull 3-1.

The midfielder played 83 minutes of the Championship opener and provided the assist for Tommy Elphick’s goal which levelled the score and did appear to wave to the travelling Villa fans after the final whistle, read into that what you wish.

Grealish has been continually linked with a move to Tottenham but as of yet, no transfer fee has been agreed between both clubs with Bruce admitting that the next few days will be tense ahead of the window closing at 5pm on Thursday.

We still remain the only Premier League club who are yet to make a signing this summer.

Bruce told a post-match press conference: “He’s a natural talent. Of course he’s matured, which is the big thing. He’s a wonderful talent & we’ll do our best to keep him but it’ll obviously be difficult. I’m sure it’ll be a fraught two, three days”

“Nobody wants him to leave but there is a human element to it too. The owners have made it pretty clear that they don’t want to sell him. Now if they get to a magical figure then we’ll see. What that magical figure is I do not know”
