Vincent Janssen returns to action for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s forgotten man Vincent Janssen returns to action for the club this evening.

The Dutch international has been named in Tottenham’s Under-23 starting line-up for the Premier League 2 match against Liverpool in Stevenage.

Janssen spent last season on loan at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and any chances of a permanent deal were scuppered when he picked up a foot injury that required surgery during the summer.

The 24-year-old has not been given a squad number under Mauricio Pochettino this season with many expecting him to depart the club sooner or later.

This evening’s run out will help to increase his match fitness following the injury and hopefully put some potential clubs on alert for a move in the current transfer window.

Janssen joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar back in 2016 for a fee of £17m (BBC), since then however he’s featured in just 28 Premier League matches, scoring twice.
