Vincent Janssen’s first words after ending his Spurs nightmare

Vincent Janssen has taken to Instagram for the first time since completing his departure from Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker ended a miserable three year stint in North London yesterday when he signed for Mexican side Monterrey.

Janssen struggled to settle at Spurs following his £17million switch from AZ Alkmaar after only managing to score two goals in 31 Premier League appearances (FourFourTwo).

The Dutch international was loaned out to Turkish side Fenerbahce last season but saw his campaign curtailed by injury.

Following Harry Kane’s ankle injury, Mauricio Pochettino brought Janssen back in from the first team wilderness towards the end of the season and he came inches from scoring a late equaliser against West Ham United at the new stadium in front of the 17,500 capacity south stand.

After completing his switch to Mexico, Janssen posted a message and photo on Instagram but did not give any reference to his time at Tottenham or any sort of ‘thank you’ to the North London faithful.
