Wanyama back on Spurs’ radar

Last summer it was reported that Spurs were in for Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama but despite plenty of speculation a transfer failed to materialise.

Wanyama was said to have told Southampton boss Ronald Koeman and director Les Reed last summer of his desire to leave the club and has been stalling on signing a new deal at St Mary’s.

The defensive midfielder has just one year to run on his existing deal and is said to be keen on re-uniting with Mauricio Pochettino and the prospect playing Champions League football at Spurs.

Southampton will have to sell him this summer or risk losing him for nothing as a free agent after next season.  It almost sounds like the perfect Daniel Levy transfer negotiation scenario.

Bringing in Wanyama could spell curtains for Ryan Mason who has been linked with a move to Bournemouth.
