“Was he running in quicksand?” – Some Spurs fans mock Mark Noble’s performance for West Ham

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to mock West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble after his embarrassing effort at trying to track back cost the Premier League strugglers a goal.

After spending over £100million this summer on new players, the Hammers find themselves pointless after two matches and are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League alongside Arsenal.

Noble told The Telegraph at the beginning of the season that he set out his aims for the season which included a top 10 finish for West Ham, whilst wanting to ‘enjoy the season’. Based on this performance, it is going to be a very long season for the uncapped midfielder.

Arguably, even more laughable than Noble’s inability to track back is the fact that he claimed that West Ham is “one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
