News emerged earlier today that Christian Eriksen has revealed that he would like to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer for a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison who now works as a football pundit has said it has come as no surprise that the Dane wishes to leave North London and has not been the same player this season compared to previous campaigns at Spurs.

Morrison believes that Eriksen’s head has been turned by another club with rumours that Real Madrid are keen to sign the 27-year-old (Guardian).

Eriksen has been a fantastic servant to Spurs over the past six seasons, popping up with crucial goals.  However, some supporters will agree that there has been a dip in his performance over the past few months.

Below is a video clip of Morrison giving his opinion on talkSPORT earlier today.

  1. Strange that Sky see Morrison as a pundit, he really did not understand the principal of playing football when he was capped by Ireland. Never did much other than ball watching in a green shirt!

  2. Morrison is tottaly right his head had been turned although its a long season and he never really found his natural form all season, so to me there has to be more there. If you look through the team as a whole Eriksen, Delli, Trippier, Lloris, Kane, Dier, Lemela, Davies, Aurier and even players that came back from injury Wanyama and Winks none of these players had nowhere near their best season. None of them could even call it a good season at best they might get away with decent, good enough or even just above average. The thing is I don’t know what went wronge maybe the fact we had a lot of players playing at the world cup and not having enough recover time off before the season began, maybe their heads had been turned or just maybe they had problems in their personal life I don’t know. What I do know is that even with all those top players not playing anywhere near their best personally but as a team they still managed to finished 4th and come 2nd out of all the Top teams the so called ‘Champions of Europe’…..Now could you imagine what hights that squad of players could reach if they wanted too. So I just hope the likes of Eriksen and every player in the squad takes that into consideration before packing up for pastures new (which arn’t always greener, remember that). In my opinion you owe it to yourselves to see just how far you could go playing at your best after coming together as just fresh faced pup’s and now your fully professional players.
