“We have not had any contact with Tottenham” – agent speaks on transfer rumours

The agent of AC Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez has denied that Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach for the player.

Gianluca Di Domenico revealed that the former Wolfsburg player, who is under contract at the San Siro until 2021 would only consider departing for a club which could challenge for the Champions League trophy. However, there is talk that he could depart the Serie A side due to Financial Fair Play penalties.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with the Swiss international over the past few days along with German outfit Borussia Dortmund.

“It is absolutely not true that he’s leaving and we have not had any contact with Tottenham,” his agent Gianluca Di Domenico told Gianlucadimarzio.com.

“If Tottenham were to call me over the next two weeks, that’d be different, but as of today there has been no contact. I don’t know why these things are written.

“I can confirm there has been interest from some English clubs, which is only normal after a good World Cup campaign, but there is nothing concrete and no negotiations.

“If an offer were to arrive, we’d talk to Milan, evaluate it together and then see what happens. However, Ricardo is holding on tight to Milan, as it’s not in his nature to leave a club like this just because they might not play in Europe.

“Ricardo has a great rapport with Coach Gennaro Gattuso and the only reason he’d consider leaving would be an offer from a top European club that can win the Champions League.”
