West Ham’s embarrassing Tweet to congratulate Liverpool after beating Spurs in final

West Ham United have once again shown their lack of class by congratulating Liverpool in an attempt to antagonise Tottenham Hotspur following their Champions League final defeat.

Liverpool were 2-0 winners in Madrid to deny Tottenham an historic first European Cup.  While Spurs made it to the final of European football’s most prestigious cup competition along with a fourth successive top four finish in the Premier League, West Ham’s season highlight was beating Mauricio Pochettino’s side at the new stadium.

West Ham’s social media team are scraping the barrel this evening with the Tweet which they congratulate the Reds on ‘literally behalf of everyone at West Ham United’.

While the Hammers view Spurs as their main rivals, West Ham aren’t even on our radar.

A rented stadium, a crap claret carpet and a captain who will never play for England, let alone play in a European final.   They couldn’t even beat minnows Astra Giurgiu in 2016 to qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing that tweet or not turning up in the Champions league final.
Maybe West Ham should be on your radar, then they wouldn’t beat you every season.
Remember lads nobody remembers who came second ;)

  2. Obviously got to you. Does your stadium have york stone cladding on the outside ? Agree though uncalled for from west ham media team. Ps our rented stadium as you put it will eventually have a far bigger and sold out capacity than your new home.

  3. Not sure if you can talk bo–ocks like this as for sure spuds are not my hate team now millwall another story. Why certainly not religion as gold is Jewish and certainly not fighting over the seasons like millwall and a death ? I have spuds mates and banter for sure but supporting a northern club that had banned English clubs for five years after their disgusting spectacle against juve is far more than any spud supporters have done but that gets forgotten due to their overcrowding at Sheffield which was bad but dont forget their history either imo

  4. You mention a lackof class tweet and then follow by an awful troll against West Ham – it would appear the Hammers tweet served its intended purpose to get under Spurs skin. May I suggest a classier response would have been not to respond at all.
