What Lord Sugar said on Twitter after Arsenal bottled the top four

Tottenham Hotspur fans were dreading the worst yesterday when their nine-man side lost to a late Bournemouth goal on the south coast.

The defeat for Mauricio Pochettino’s side meant that Arsenal could have narrowed the four point gap down to one with a victory over Chris Hughton’s side which would have taken the battle to finish in the top four between the North London rivals down to the final round of Premier League fixtures.

Instead, many did not envisage Arsenal being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton and although they are only three points behind Tottenham, their goal difference is eight goals worse off.

Former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar wasted no time in taking to Twitter after the final whistle at the Emirates.

Spurs could still lose their final fixture of the season at home to Everton, but it will mean that Arsenal must overturn their eight-goal disadvantage for the unthinkable to happen.

Here’s what Lord Sugar had to say, which included a special mention for Brighton boss Chris Hughton, who is well respected at Spurs following his time in N17 as a player and coach.
