What Roberto Soldado said after Tottenham’s 3-1 win against Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur received glowing praise following their 3-1 demolition of Chelsea last night from an unexpected source.

Former striker Roberto Soldado took to Twitter to praise his former side’s performance at Wembley.

Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane put Spurs two-nil ahead inside the first 16 minutes and Heung-min Son made it three during the second half with a stunning solo goal.

Soldado did not have the easiest of times at Tottenham following his £26million (Independent) move from Valencia in August 2013.

The striker only managed to score 16 goals in all competitions during his 76 appearances over the course of his two seasons at Spurs and predominantly found himself behind the prolific Harry Kane in the pecking order.

Despite Spurs shelling out a club record fee for the Spanish international, he failed to reach the expectations set upon him and was sold to Villarreal in August 2015 and now earns a living by playing for Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

It’s somewhat heartwarming to see that Soldado still holds a fondness for Spurs despite how it panned out for him at the club.
