What some of the Spurs players said on Twitter after beating Chelsea

Some of the Tottenham Hotspur players took to Twitter following last night’s 1-0 win against Chelsea to share their thoughts.

Harry Kane’s 27th minute penalty gave Mauricio Pochettino’s side the advantage going into the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi final.

Referee Michael Oliver awarded the penalty after consulting VAR for offside and Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s foul on Kane. The goal means that Kane is now the outright fourth highest goalscorer for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring his 160th goal.

While Spurs were not at their most fluent in comparison to the 3-1 win against Chelsea in the Premier League at the end of November, they showed their resilience to grind out a result.

In a sign of changing fortunes, Tottenham have won three successive games against Chelsea in all competitions for the first time since a run of five between March 1961 and September 1963.

Paulo Gazzaniga, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez were among the Spurs players who posted on Twitter.
