Which NFL teams will be the first to play at the new Spurs stadium; full details revealed

The details of the first two American Football matches which will be held at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium have been revealed on the club’s website just moments ago.

The first ever NFL match will take place between the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears on Sunday 6th October with a 6pm kick off.

It will be followed a week later when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Carolina Panthers in a 2:30pm kick off.

The 62,062 capacity seater stadium includes an artificial surface for NFL matches that sits below the grass pitch and is the first stadium in the UK to have two pitches inside the same bowl.

Ahead of NFL matches, the grass pitch which sits in three steel trays will retract under the south stand to reveal the alternative playing surface. The process takes around 25 minutes to switch from one surface to another.

Tottenham’s stadium also includes dedicated changing room facilities for the American sport.
