Who should be Tottenham’s first-choice midfielders when fit?

Tottenham Hotspur are unsurprisingly yet to spend a penny during the summer transfer window.

With a new stadium to pay for, which is said to be in the region anywhere from £850million to a bumper £1billion, along with a huge new six-year contract for our star striker Harry Kane which is worth £200,000-a-week. I’m genuinely concerned that Daniel Levy is not going to give Mauricio Pochettino the transfer funds to go out and bring some quality into his team before the window slams shut.

Looking at our squad, our defence and attack practically pick themselves which leaves the midfield as the focus of discussion.

Right now we have eleven, yes eleven midfielders on our books. Twelve, if you want to bring Heung-min Son into the discussion as a winger.

Victor Wanyama

Harry Winks

Mousa Dembele

Moussa Sissoko

Eric Dier

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou

Dele Alli

Christian Eriksen

Lucas Moura

Josh Onomah

Erik Lamela

Yes, there has been talk about Dembele moving on, while there has also been speculation about Sissoko and Nkoudou heading out on loan to Turkey but at present, they are still our players.

Will Onomah be given a chance? Moura hardly had a kick last season, while Winks has a lot to prove after his injury problems.

Based on the above and dreaded scenario of us not bringing in any new players. What would your first-choice Spurs midfield be going into the new season?
