Transfer talk: Spurs open talks with Montpellier ace

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks with highly-rated Moroccan international midfielder Younes Belhanda.

According to reports Spurs have entered the race to sign the 22-year-old who has already agreed terms with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce, however there is a potential stumbling block since both clubs have been unable to agree a fee.

French paper L’Equipe have reported that Tottenham have also begun negotiations with the player’s representatives.

Montpellier president Louis Nicoll in want between £10-£12million, while Fenerbache have offered £6million plus add-ons.

Nicollin said: “I will let him leave, and I think he wants to leave as well. If they rise to €15m, everything will go through.”

Belhanda has made 22 appearances so far this season, scoring eight times.
