Montpellier urge Spurs interest in midfielder

Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin has revealed that Tottenham have not made an approach for Younes Belhanda.

The French club are willing to part with the Morocco international to help ease their financial situation and it looked at one stage as if the midfielder was bound for Fenerbache only for the deal to hit the buffers.

Both Arsenal and Spurs are rumoured to be keen to bring the player to England, but as of yet nothing concrete has materialised.

“Tottenham’s interest? There has been nothing official as yet, but I would like there to be,” said Nicollin in L’Equipe.

“If a good offer arrives, he will leave. We can live without him and he can live without us.”

When asked about the Fenerbahce deal, he added: “Nothing has evolved. They wanted to pay us in three instalments. They can keep their money.”
