Montpellier urge Spurs interest in midfielder

Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin has revealed that Tottenham have not made an approach for Younes Belhanda.

The French club are willing to part with the Morocco international to help ease their financial situation and it looked at one stage as if the midfielder was bound for Fenerbache only for the deal to hit the buffers.

Both Arsenal and Spurs are rumoured to be keen to bring the player to England, but as of yet nothing concrete has materialised.

“Tottenham’s interest? There has been nothing official as yet, but I would like there to be,” said Nicollin in L’Equipe.

“If a good offer arrives, he will leave. We can live without him and he can live without us.”

When asked about the Fenerbahce deal, he added: “Nothing has evolved. They wanted to pay us in three instalments. They can keep their money.”

  1. Most clubs pay transfers in installments if he is expecting all of the money up front he will end up with an unsettled unwanted player.

  2. that is the worst attempt to try and sell a player and get good money for him…

If he is that keen to get rid of him.. I hope we don't get near him.

  3. Yeah catcher cos you're the best scout there is aren't you? All the top clubs ask for your opinion when they're about to buy a player. I think your selection process is without question the most effective in football taking all aspects of a players game into account, including his name…….. oh that's it, oh well as long as it works for you. Just because his manager wants to sell him, doesn't mean the player's no good. In fact when looking at the managers words if correctly taken down, make him sound some what of a, well knob really. Not much to judge by?
