Zinedine Zidane speaks for the first time on Gareth Bale’s exit

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he has not spoken to Gareth Bale about his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Welsh international travelled by private jet from Madrid to Luton airport yesterday morning and was later spotted arriving at the club’s Hotspur Way training facility.

Zidane paid testament to the impact which Bale has had during his time with the Spanish giants which includes four Champions League trophies, two La Liga titles and for FIFA World Club Cups (transfermarkt).

Bale’s departure has reportedly left Madrid chief Florentino Pérez disappointed with head coach Zinedine Zidane after believing that the Frenchman could have made more use of the 31-year-old during his remaining time at the Santiago Bernabeu (AS).

The Madrid coach claimed last month that Bale expressed a desire not to be included in Real Madrid’s squad to face Manchester City in the Champions League and was subsequently left out (Sky Sports).

Zidane acknowledged that negotiations are taking place and wished the winger well ahead of his return to North London.
